Our lives are formed by stories – they order our understanding of life and shape the way we live. As we immerse ourselves in God’s story we discover the truth about the world and about ourselves.
In the beginning, God.
In the beginning, God creating; making all things.
In the beginning, God forming man and woman in God’s image: created for community, invited to co-create and charged to tend and care for creation. Every person a beloved child of God – this is at the very core of our identity. As ones who bear God’s image, we find true meaning in relationship.
In Jesus we discover the love of God embodied – calling all of creation back to the Author of the narrative. It is the redemptive and transformative love found in the birth, life, suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus that restores our world and calls us back into fellowship with our Creator. And it is this love that brings us together as community – calling us to be a redemptive and transformative people that share in the life of God’s Spirit.
We are a missional people; which is another way of saying that we are invited to participate in God’s love for the world, expressed first and foremost in the life of our neighborhoods and our city. We do this as we engage the uniqueness of our gifts and passions, and we discover that God is alive and at work in us, through us, and around us.
